A series of murals intended to highlight the essence of this region and to bring vibrant colours to the spaces that they will live in. Three pieces are located in the staff hub, dining hall, and general foyer on the main floor.

Three murals for CISSSO; one at the Gatineau Hospital, the second at Pierre Janet Mental Health Hospital, and the third for the headquarters office. All murals are designed with the intention of representing the calming and healing experience of being on the water in mind.

An Ode to Mud Lake

MASC Mural project with students in Grades 4-5, aimed at highlighting key aspects of the local flora & fauna of Mud Lake. This school is very connected to Mud Lake, so it was important to highlight the spirit of its ecosystem.

Wurtemburg Community Mural

Sandy Hill, Ottawa, Ontario

This mural was intended to represent the local flora and fauna of the Sandy Hill area; including the leopard frog, blue heron, white lotus lilies, lavender, and crows. There is also an influence of Indigenous women singing & drumming for the water, alongside protestors fighting to keep the Ottawa river clean and free from the inevitable harmful effects of the nuclear waste site being proposed up-stream in Chalk River.

“A Gathering” Downie Wenjack Legacy Room at IGM headquarters

This mural was created as part of the Downie Wenjack Fund for a Legacy Space. The aim of IGM’s Downie Wenjack Legacy Space is to honor IGM’s commitment to Indigenous and non-Indigenousreconciliation in Canada and specifically with regards to ‘Call to Action 92’ of Canada’s ‘Truth and Reconciliation Commission. The intention is to create a space of education and inspiration primarily for IGM employees around Indigenous reconciliation while also being a space where local indigenous communities, partners, and employees feel welcome and represented in the spirit of reconciliation.

IKEA ‘All My Relations’ Mural

This mural was aimed at representing a cyclical nature of all creation, and the beauty of our animal relatives. This piece is accessible to the public, and will remain permanently installed at Ottawa’s Ikea location (right off the escalators on the 2nd floor).

Heritage Regional High School Indigenous Mural

Co-Lead Artist with Jimmy Baptiste, Community-engaged

These 2 murals (30’ wall, and 60’ wall) were created over the course of 4 days in collaboration with fellow muralist Jimmy Baptiste. The school had asked for an Indigenous representation mural, so we included many important themes such as youth, the aurora & night sky/ancestors being braided into the water by an elder’s hands, lacrosse, diverse landscapes, animals & plants, and more. It’s hard to capture the scope of these 2 walls in a few photos, head over to my Instagram to view the video.

Art Trail Murals, AOG Art Gallery, Frankville, Ontario

These murals highlight species at risk in the area where the art trail is located. The Blanding’s Turtle was the main pull in this series, considering there is a high number of mortality in this region due to vehicle traffic and loss of wetland habitat. The Eastern Meadowlark; who are grass-nesting birds, are also an endangered/threatened species due to habitat loss. The Coyote have the misfortune of being given a bad reputation. Lastly the Barred Owl is particularly special to the client, as they often nest in his barn. Public access to this trail is located across from 47 Leacock Rd, Frankville, Ontario.

Inspiration for this work came from my childhood memories in Sudbury, picking blueberries amongst the rocks and moss with my little sister.

This 6 panel community-engaged mural came to fruition after discussions of our relationships to sustainable food systems and community care. We explored themes of duality, pictured with the sun and the moon, mushrooms and vegetables, water and land.
